"Frozen June" by Yuu Ikeda

Originally published on July 24, 2024

loneliness hits me.

so, my skin is covered with bruises,

my voice is meaningless,

only tears wrap my cheeks.

‘i would rather have been in the world

where you are not

than have been in the world

where you are’

pain makes me regret.

rosy thorns pierce my heart.

morbid coldness covers my body.

my heartbeats resound emptily,

without your heartbeats.

you used to be here.

memories of you give loneliness blaze.

loneliness that includes more heat

hits me again and again.
