“rhodochrosite moon” by M.S. Blues
the rhodochrosite moon
sits on medallion yellow
blanket above the indigo sky.
it’s a nizhoni sight
one for the books
for a wretched eye.
i lay back
on my serape,
shift on my pillow of the fresh-cut grass –
my eyes get lost in the sky,
on that rhodochrosite moon
where the prayers of my dearest people
are being chanted.
